Welcome to our first ever Concert Week!
During Concert Week I will discuss artists I will be seeing in the lead up to the actual event. Then after the event, I will discuss my experience at the concert with a Concert Recap. This week I will be going to an Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness concert in Chicago. The openers will be Grizfolk and flor.

flor is a band from Hood River, Oregon that released their major label debut almost two years ago titled come out, you’re hiding. I had a hard time finding out much about the band outside of that. One cool fact I found was that the band are friends with Halsey. Bassist Dylan Bauld is actually credited for producing two songs on her debut album Badlands. The songs are “Colors” and “Young God” and he is even credited as a co-writer on “Colors.”
A friend of mine actually introduced me to flor’s music. I distinctly remember him pulling up their cover of Post Malone’s song “I Fall Apart.” We were all listening to Post heavily in the lead up to his latest album at the time, beerbongs & Bentleys. They did a great job with the cover by adding their synth-pop rock style to the song. I feel like they will eventually get really popular. They have a similar style as some successful groups in pop today like WALK THE MOON and Fitz and The Tantrums. I especially hear this pop style in the song “where do you go” off their latest album.
Check out my favorite song by them called “overbehind” here:
